It Started with Two RV Parks
My name is Zach Calhoon, and my journey into RV parks started the way many great things do - learning from my dad. He showed me the ropes of RV park ownership, and I was hooked by the potential of these businesses as real estate assets.
I took that knowledge and ran with it. Within 14 months, I transformed raw land into a thriving 50-space RV park. Then came park number two. Each park taught me something new about the challenges of running these businesses day-to-day.
The paperwork. The endless phone calls asking for the Wi-Fi password. Chasing down late payments. Managing long-term tenants with recurring billing. I knew there had to be a better way.

Where Software Meets RV Parks
Here is where my two worlds collided. I had a background in software development - building systems that automate repetitive tasks and scale without breaking. I looked at my RV park operations and saw countless opportunities for improvement.
Why was I manually sending Wi-Fi passwords? Why was I chasing payments when Stripe could handle recurring billing automatically? Why was booking so complicated when it could be self-service?
I started building tools for my own parks. When other park owners saw what I had created, they wanted it too. Camp Operator was born.

Why I Do What I Do
Behind every line of code and every feature in Camp Operator is a simple motivation: my family. My wife and three boys are the reason I work to make RV park management as hands-off as possible.
I do not want to be glued to my phone answering the same questions over and over. I do not want to spend my evenings chasing payments. I want to be present for baseball games, family dinners, and spontaneous adventures.
That is the freedom I am building for myself, and that is exactly what I want to help you achieve too.
